About Cassandra, Troupe Director
Cassandra is a legendary Belly Dancer who has been studying and performing Middle Eastern Dance for more than 20 years. Known for her masterful technique of the most complex and intricate movements, she is also the featured performer at many of the area’s finest establishments and the leader of an award-winning Belly Dance troupe.
Her repertoire is comprised of traditional Raqs Sharqi and aspects of modern American Belly Dance. She is dedicated to promoting the art form in a manner that is beautiful, exciting, and suitable for all audiences. It is her belief that educating the general public through performance and instruction will foster a better understanding of the dance and its Middle Eastern heritage.

About the Company
The Wind and Sand Dance Co. is a progressive belly dance troupe, which was established by Cassandra in 1995. Performances by Wind and Sand are lively, up beat and full of color and style. Their repertoire ranges from the glamorous style of cabaret to the earthier exotic look of American tribal. Various props such as swords, canes, candles, brightly colored veils and feathered fans have been incorporated into their productions to add to the excitement of their shows. Wind and Sand hold an award for 1st Place Troupe Performance in the 2004 Mid-West Personal Best Bellydance Competition held in Columbus, Ohio. They have added sparkle to many venues in Cleveland as well as other cities in the tri-state area, many have been repeat engagements.
